Denny Hamlin wins at Pocono
It was another great weekend for rookie driver Denny Hamlin at Pocono International Raceway, he won the Pennsylvania 500 and swept the two Pocono races for 2006. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as great a weekend for my driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. He was coming off a horrible race the weekend before that sawe him drop 4 spots in the standings from 3rd place down to 7th and he was looking to rebound.
Well, that didn’t happen at Pocono thanks to Dave Blaney, the driver of the #22 car. Blaney bumped Dale Jr. car from behind hard enough to lift the rear end of Dales car casusing him to spin out into the wall. Because pf the wreck, he ended up with a 43rd place finish for the second straight race and he again lost 4 more positions and he is now outside of the Top 10 and out of the Chase for the Cup id it ended today. Fortunately, he is only 15 points out of 10th and there are 6 more races to go.
The biggest excitement in the race came when Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer and Carl Edwards were battling for position and Cint Bowyer moved up the race track coming out of turn three and didn’t realize Tony Stewart was on the outside of him and he moved up the track pinching Tony into the wall. This angered Tony Stewart and he retaliated and turned right into the side of Clint Bowyer’s car which caused him to hit Carl Edwards and spun him out. The NASCAR officials determined that Tony Stewart deserved a penalty for aggressive driving and they Black Flagged him and held him in the pits for a lap.
That wasn’t the end of it though, Carl Edwards wasn’t calmed down yet and he decided that he was going to get payback on Tony Stewart for causing him to wreck. So Edwards pulls a total boneheaded move and hit Tony in the rear and spun him entering pit road. NASCAR penalized Carl Edwards for aggressive driving and held him for a lap.
Despite the wreck and the penalty, Tony Stewart was able to get him lap back and he ended up finishing 7th and Clint Bowyer finished 41st and Edwards finished 39th.

Cool, I glad you found me. I am hoping this off weekend will help the #8 team prepare for Indy. Two straight bad finsihes and he drops 8 spots and out of the top 10. I am sure he is more frustrated then I am, but I am pretty frustrated at the bad timing for these two 43rd place finishes to happen.

I love the photos. It’s great for the game of golf when Tiger wins. Hopefully, there will be some great competition this year.
